Gratitude

Fall has finally arrived—no small feat in the Southeast! This is such a great time of year. The weather is just right, the leaves are changing colors and the holidays are on the horizon. I find myself reflecting on all the things in my life I am thankful for. It’s a long list, but here are a few things I’m especially grateful for this season.

Technology Industry
I’ve been lucky enough to have been a part of this great industry for over 25 years. Not once in all that time has it become stale or boring. I consider myself blessed to have a front row seat to many of the most exciting technology disruptions and innovations happening in the industry. I’ve learned so much from these companies and I look forward to the years to come.

Carabiner Communications Clients
I also get the opportunity to work with a variety of innovative, inspiring leaders who are making an impact in their respective industries. The never-ending problem-solving mentality that these technology entrepreneurs have always amazes me. They see a problem and create something to fix it. I admire their ability to always be thinking creatively. Our clients challenge me to think outside of the box and for that I am grateful.

Partners and Resources
There is a lot of expertise and experience needed to support our clients’ diverse set of needs. Marketing has evolved, which has demanded us, as a communications agency, to stay on top of trends. This means we must find the tools and resources we need to deliver what our clients require to grow. I’m grateful to have access to these assets that continue to deliver impactful results for our clients.

Carabiner Communications Team
I’m always grateful for my amazing team. I’m surrounded by great professionals, some of which I’ve been lucky enough to know for over 20 years. I truly believe we benefit from all our years of working together. Every single person on our team has an outstanding skill set and dedication to excellence. I am honored to be part of a great team that’s full of such hard-working people.

Friendships and Mentors
Over the course of my career, co-workers, clients and partners have become part of my close-knit network. They’re always cheering me on and have become a big part of why I love this industry so much. It’s funny—men sometimes have trouble saying “I love you” to other people, other men specifically, unless you add “man” at the end. For whatever reason, we’re more comfortable saying “I love you, man” than “I love you.” We aren’t accustomed to using the L word in a business setting in particular and instead use words like admire, appreciate or look up to. Behind those human resource-friendly words, though, is the feeling of love. These types of relationships are a huge part of our lives, and I hope you also have these relationships to be grateful for this holiday season.
