March means more than the start of spring and college basketball—it is also Women’s History Month. On a personal level, this period dedicated to honoring women making a mark also gives us an opportunity to recognize our own agency’s accomplished women leaders.
Founded in 2004 by Peter Baron, Carabiner Communications has evolved to become one of the leading marketing and PR firms in the Southeast. When he founded the agency, Baron also hand-selected a talented group of leaders early on to help him drive its vision and growth. Aside from himself, that leadership team happens to be composed entirely of women.
He says the composition wasn’t intentional—he just wanted to build the best team possible.
In 2023, Baron transitioned into the role of CEO and appointed Dana Cogan as the new President of Carabiner, tasking her with overseeing daily operations and our many client services. Rounding out the agency’s leadership is Suzanne Moccia, General Vice President; Donna Shelton, Vice President of Healthcare Marketing; and Leslie Tentler, Vice President of Content. All four have been with the agency since its beginning.
From its inception, Carabiner has embraced diversity and inclusion, including recognizing the invaluable contributions that women can and do bring to the table. In fact, a remarkable 75 percent of the agency’s multitalented team are women. Each offers unique perspectives, skillsets, and a collaborative spirit—helping us as a whole to do our very best, every day, to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Happy Women’s History Month to those women out there who are inspiring others, forging new paths, and making their mark!
