InnovATL: Fueling Atlanta’s Innovation Ecosystem

By now, you may have heard about the recent launch of InnovATL, a new initiative developed in collaboration with Startup Atlanta, Venture Atlanta, and the Metro ATL Chamber

InnovATL showcases the vibrant innovation ecosystem in Metro Atlanta, highlighting the growing number of tech-focused events taking place around Venture Atlanta, the crown jewel of the region’s startup scene that takes place each fall. InnovATL’s goal is to help entrepreneurs, startups, innovators, and investors stay connected to all the amazing things happening here.

Why Atlanta Is A Hotspot For Innovation

Atlanta has long been known as a place where people love to be nice, arguably leaving lots of time for growing a thriving economy. This recent study by WalletHub ranks Atlanta at #7 among the best large U.S. cities to start a business.

The region offers many advantages to those seeking to launch their own business or become part of an existing one. With its diverse talent pool, top universities, a world-class airport, a growing list of Fortune 1000 companies, a vibrant and diverse cultural life, comparatively lower cost of living, and strong municipal infrastructure, there’s surely no shortage of opportunities for innovators.

In fact, the many activities and events in the region that strive to further our tech ecosystem is why a coordinating platform such as InnovATL is needed.

Only The Beginning

While InnovATL is currently in its infancy, I believe that it will grow to become not only the glue that binds our many tech-supporting activities together, but will also evolve to become a brand for Atlanta that serves as its calling card to tech founders, professionals, and investors nationwide and globally.

Are we dreaming too big when we think of the early days of SXSW? Only time will tell, but it’s clear that Atlanta’s tech ecosystem is growing in size and national prominence, and can only benefit from a cohesive organization that will strive to unite and amplify our many tech-based thought leaders, activities, and initiatives.

As for Carabiner’s role in all this, I’m honored and excited to sit on the steering committee of InnovATL and to be among the many voices that are helping to plan and shape what it will become. Together, we can help continue Atlanta’s growth as a rising tech startup hub.

If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the InnovATL website to get a first look at the upcoming signature events scheduled to take place.
